Rob Heneghan, Uluru. (BLACK & WHITE 2024)
Uluru is an icon that has been worshipped for thousands of years. More recently, it has drawn countless tourists who take in its spectacle (myself included), and it has been endlessly photographed. In this collection my aim was to capture a different perspective. Sections of Uluru are considered so sacred that, in some parts, photography is strongly discouraged. I attempted to balance my desire to make images of this beautiful place with its sacred role in Aboriginal culture, by shooting wide and far away, or very close in areas where photography is permitted. I hope these photos express the awe and beauty I felt for Uluru.
