Brodie Knox , Universally Connected (Travel 2020)
Though we all may speak different languages and have different customs within every unique culture of the globe; we are all universally connected in our need for food. For food is essential to our survival. And though the cuisines may vary in tastes, flavours and smells in every culture; we all possess the same need, and that is that we need to eat to survive. But we not only have a need for it, but also a strong, unquenchable lust for it. From the seductive aromas, to the exotic and spicy flavours and not forgetting those first moments when a new food hits our tongue for the first time; and electrifying our taste buds. Thus, no matter what corner of the globe we stem from. food connects us all; as it unites communities and brings people together with their similar need and desire for a good tasty meal. This collection of photos displays the origins of food in the corners of South East Asia, as the images showcase how food is gathered, grown and created from the land; from harvesting rice in the fields, to capturing fish from the sea. These photographs show where it all begins.
