Jack Miller, Vibrance (PORTRAIT 2021)

The onset of COVID hindered the majority of society, and 2020 was regarded by many as the ‘worst year ever’. For me, however, it was different... I thrived. Lockdown gave me the solitude I needed to take my images and turn them into art. I learned the delicacies of retouching, and introduced myself to an entirely fresh skill set. I fell in love with colour! Reality looked so dull in comparison to what I was creating, and I found myself immersed in a new-found world of vibrance and light. I enhanced my capabilities beyond what I thought possible, and collaborated with some brilliant individuals I can now call my friends. Who said solitude was a bad thing?
