Jerusha McDowell, Where The Snowy Mountain Stockmen Used To Ride (The Crossing collection)) (DOCO 2024)
The heritage and traditions of mountain horsemanship are etched in Australian folklore. This series is part of a an ongoing project photographing riding expeditions in Snowy Mountains. This project explores a world beyond the comfort and confines of modern life, documenting a vanishing legacy of high country horsemanship and bushcraft. The Crossing collection shows a plateau crossing in bad weather near Tabletop Creek in the Snowy Mountains, and simple fireside rituals as we stop to rest and let the weather clear.
