Kristyn Taylor, Winter migration with the Kazakh nomads (Travel (2019))

With daytime temperatures around -30C, I walked with the Kazakh nomads as they herded their animals to the 'spring place'. Walking for 150 km over five days at goat pace, I soon appreciated the skill, and determination it takes to successfully traverse the extreme landscape of the Altai Mountains with hungry animals and no fodder.
