Tracey Malone, Withdrawal Pt I, PtII, PtIII (PORTRAIT 2023)

Anxiety is increasing in our younger generations, the burden, helplessness, and uncertainty of extreme climate change along with the past few years of discord, loneliness, lost connections and identity have made many question their future. Many can find solace, peace, and calm with nature. Here they can dream, relax, and contemplate their lives and how to navigate forward. To move forward they must learn to adapt, feel alive once more, dream, have hope, positivity, resilience, and optimism. There is light ahead. My work reflects the fragility, confusion and mixed emotions experienced by many. The use of multiple exposures intentionally highlights the juxtaposition of anxiety with the peace and calm of nature.
