Bill Lane, Words Fail Me (ART 2021)

Attempting to release the aesthetic dimensions of commodity objects through still life represents a failed act of resistance toward consumer culture. But that failure doesn't diminish the act of resistance. The resistance resides in the act of making rather than in the processes of dissemination. Words Fail Me focuses this failure within the tension between word and image, communication and incomprehension, doubts and certainty. Seeking to energise the fine line between opposites to reveal relevant truths.
