"I just wanna be a cowboy and stay a cowboy," Bob Holder says. 2024 seen the unveiling of the newly named BOB HOLDER ARENA. The 92 year old who was in the saddle again for the Cootamundra Rodeo was surprised and also humble. Bob has been a professional rider since the 1940s, winning his first rodeo event at the age of 14. Nicknamed "The Cootamundra Cat", he's rode in rodeos worldwide and competed in multiple world championships. He was the first Australian to ever win money in professional rodeo in the U.S. , taking home around $290 from the annual world championships held in Madison Square Garden in New York in 1959. This series documents the 2023 Rodeo Street Parade, followed by the Coota Rodeo two days later. Dungog cowboy Tom Hudson stole the show in the last event of the day, The Tom Mitchell Memorial Open Bull Ride on Beast of a bull named Venom.
