83-year-old Roy hand-built his beach shack in the rural coastal town of Paradise Beach in Victoria when suddenly at the time his beloved wife passed away from cancer. He had not resturned since. Twenty years had passed, with the shack frozen in time, remaining a time capsule. Recently, he was contacted recently by Council to clean up his property from overgrown trees for the fire season. I had the honour of meeting and sitting with this gentle farmer while he told me his story of why he never returned because of the painful memories of grief and loss.

Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers, presented by Fujifilm, is the region's main platform for discovering and showcasing photographers at the outset of their careers, as well as aspiring photographers. The competition is open to emerging, student, and amateur photographers. The prize pool currently stands at over $30,000, including $9,000 in cash.The best entries will be showcased in the May–July 2022 issue of Capture magazine.
