Mike Kelley is a Los Angeles-based photographer specialising in architecture, interiors, commercial spaces, as well as aerial and aviation photography.
A native of Ipswich, Massachusetts, Kelley studied studio art and environmental science at the University of Vermont before venturing out to Lake Tahoe, California in the hope of becoming a professional snowboarder. A couple of years and countless injuries later, he found himself taking up an offer to photograph for a friend just as a fun weekend gig. What started out by chance turned out to be the perfect mix of technicality and creativity for Kelley, and he was immediately hooked with photographing architecture and aviation.
Kelley has been named one of the 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide 2016/17 by Luerzer’s Archive, winner in the Fine Art category for the One Eyeland Photography Awards 2017, and his images have been named Digital Camera World’s Best Images of 2014. His image, was selected as the cover image of Gestalten's book, PhotoViz, and other images have been featured in Assouline’s, The Art of Travel book.
Mike Kelley is on the judging panel for Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers 2018.
