Business basics for photographers

There is much to learn to become a successful commercial photographer. Get a head-start with this 3-week course for self-motivated entrepreneurs who are keen to learn the business basics of the photography industry. In this course, you will gain insight into freelancing, including basic tips on invoicing, administrative and creative workflow. You’ll pick up valuable networking tips and learn how to develop a marketing strategy and business plan.

You’ll also explore other options to get started in the photographic industry such as becoming an assistant, a digital operator, a producer or a stylist. As a freelance photographer, it is important to know about Intellectual Property, licensing and copyright, and be able to explain them to clients when quoting for jobs. This course outlines how to build and maintain a good reputation, and also how to ensure the industry remains sustainable.
