Life Line

Life Line is an exhibition of two series, both shot in West Kirby (England) by photogapher Jonathan Cooper.

The first series is based on the idea of magic realism, Coopers cleverly-timed photographs incorporate street furniture and the surrounding architecture to create a Lilliputian world-within-a-world where the people on the lake promenade interact with the little people, who are oblivious to there world.

In the second series, Cooper has created an imaginary line capturing the public’s actions and movements as they walk along the Marine Lake. By overexposing the images and printing them on watercolour paper Cooper gives the photographs a painterly, dreamlike quality.
