Raw Formation: Gold Series by Marija Ivkovic

Raw Formation: Gold Series is Marija Ivkovic’s first solo exhibition. The series was captured in the South Island of New Zealand and the majority of shots took place from a helicopter 3,000m above sea level. Facets of each image have been intricately hand cut to reveal 23-carat ducate double gold leaf from within.

Through photography, Ivkovic wanted to capture the rarest views of our environment and expose the natural, untouched and raw beauty our world provides. The gold leaf represents an underlying layer of rare value, exposing just how fragile and precious our planet truly is.

The exhibition will include 12 one-off pieces. The pieces being exhibited are 1300mm x 900mm digital photographic prints on archival Museo Portfolio Rag and have been intricately hand cut in various sections and shapes to reveal 23-carat gold leaf applied underneath.
