An emerging photographer from Melbourne, Sarah Walker, has been named as the overall winner of the Momento Pro Australia and New Zealand Photobook Award 2018.

The judges of the 2019 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize have revealed their list of semi-finalists, all vying for the first prize of $50,000.

Organisers of the Australian Photography Awards (APA) have stripped Lisa Saad of her win in the 2018 Portrait category, disqualifying her entry, 'Cooper'. Nadia Stone has now been named as the category winner.

The winner of the 2019 National Photographic Portrait Prize is Alana Holmberg, for her image, 'Greta in her kitchen, 36 weeks'.

Australian photographer Patrick Brown has been named as the winner of the 2019 FotoEvidence Book Award for his project, 'No Place on Earth'.

"With immediate effect Lisa Saad’s membership of the Institute will cease indefinitely; all accumulated points, Awards, Titles and Prizes are rescinded. Ms. Saad will not be permitted to enter future AIPP State or National Awards." - AIPP statement

The Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers has taken action against an Australian member of the organisation to disqualify all images entered in the competitions, remove the Fellowship distinction, and terminate their membership.

WPPI has taken action to strip one of their members of all past awards, and ban them from entering any WPPI competition for five years.
